Washington Trip

THURSDAY/FRIDAY
We had a fabulous trip to Sunnyside with Russell, Merrilee, Ryker and Kate. At 4:00 Thursday evening the adventure started. Thursday night we stayed in Boise. The pool, continental breakfast and BEST WESTERN logo made a big impression on Ryker and Kate.
We arrived in Sunnyside Friday afternoon in time for dinner at our favorite El Valle Resturant. Merrilee remembered it from two years ago. It was just as good as ever, the service great, and the visiting non-stop. We returned home in time for the Jazz party, a successful party with a winning score, scotcheroos, and root beer floats. The best part of the evening was that Cannon remembered me and even smiled a few times for me.

March 1, 2010

Brady Spencer Robbins
Baptism March 6, 2010

We are proud of Brady and the choice he made this day. He is a special boy. He loves Jesus and follows His commandments. Brady bore a sweet testimony of his feelings this day. Parents have no greater joy than to know their children are faithful to the Gospel. Thank you Spencer and Jenny for teaching your family. It is a thrill to have all the family support for such occasions.
Brady, Grandpa and Grandma love you.

March 1, 2010 Cannon Rigby Copeland

Baby Cannon joined the Copeland Family
Congratulations Natalie, Kent, Ethan and Ella
We were glad to be there for this special time in their family.

January/February 2010

Our amazing trip to Hole in the Rock. John had read the Gerald Lund book, "The Undaunted" and the some Guest Service Missionaries planned a four-wheeler trip to hole in the rock. So put these two factors together and we took a trip to Hole in the Rock. We took our trusty blue Expeditionm our dear friends Paul and Carolyn Howard and had a fabulous time. It was a little scary in places, a lot bumpy, and unbelieveable the whole way.
This is a famous place called Dance Hall Rock. These are our missionary friends, Marilyn Larson (also our tour guide from our Branson trip last fall), Marion and JR Raulston (our retired group leaders), Carolyn and Paul Howard, and Gwen and Ralph Rawlings.

The road home was a breathtaking view, what a beautiful vast land. We were glad we took this adventure but glad we didn't have those challenges to endure.

February 2010 Orange County

Orange County looks like paradise when it is cold and gray in Utah.

So we talked Greg into taking us for a long weekend and we went to one of our favorite places. We stayed at the Newport Beach Marriott, ate breakfast on Balboa Island, lunch at Ruby's Diner and dinner at a delicious seafood resturant.

We toured Corona Del Mar, Huntington, and Newport Beaches and reminised the beach days with Grandpa and Grandma. The days also included shopping the fun malls, having pedicures, swimming, and of course more eating (In and Out Burger and Cappy's Breakfast.)

We attended church in Newport Beach next door to the beautiful Newport Beach temple.

We were not disappointed with our warm, sunny, relaxing vacation. This has to become an annual treat.

January 2010 Las Vegas

My daughters treated me to a once in a lifetime Birthday Celebration in Las Vegas. A birthday I'll never forget. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. We all needed the laughter, chit-chat and support from each other. The Red Rock Resort was amazing. It didn't look at all like Las Vegas. It looked like Southern California (and we all love Southern California)

We had so much fun eating out, seeing shows, getting manicures and pedicures, ordering room service, watching chick-flicks and playing scrabble in bed. I am so thankful for these girls.

We all agreed the highlight of the trip was the treasured
experience in the beautiful Temple and
especially the spiritual visit in the Celestial Room.

Thank you for a birthday I will never forget. We all missed Jenny and Merrilee and look forward to the next girls outing with everyone.
